The APTE Association is a not-for-profit open network of over 400 members and 4000 partners. Globally active companies, institutions and specialists come from five continents.

The main points of interest are micro/nanotechnologies, IT, neuro/biotechnologies and other future technologies. Members and partners are active in investment, technology development, technology application, marketing and sales, management, education, law and economic promotion.

The main purpose and common interest of the APTE Association is to give ourselves the chance to take advantage of existing resources and potential to help us in our search for efficiency, excellence and concrete results. The strength of APTE lies also in forming connections between groups who may not otherwise come into contact. This creates the possibility for new, exciting projects.

APTE members meet regularly at APTEros to exchange their expertise, ideas and projects. They are also kept informed about new developments in news bulletins called APTEinfos. Moreover, the APTE Association provides basic services such as leading searches for partners.

IVAM NRW e.V.

GERMANY

IVAM is an international, industrial oriented organisation dedicated to promoting industrial applications of microtechnology. IVAM leads strategy discussions with decision makers from politics and business, analyses and evaluates current market developments. It also attends congresses and trade fairs and is responsible for marketing for its members. 
IVAM’s predominant tasks are:

Networking is principal part of IVAM’s strategy and so it collaborates with trade-associations to facilitate addressing the member’s target-markets. Since the beginning of 2002 IVAM has closed-cooperation agreements with ZVEI e.V., Spectaris e.V. and AMA.
Due to the enormous growth of MST-companies, different qualified work-forces are required. For supporting its members IVAM also deals with training and questions of education.
In future, also nanotechnology and optics/optoelectronics activities will be included.
Currently IVAM comprises 114 members from industry and research, including 84 companies from 10 nations (e.g. USA, Japan and Korea).

MMA – The Microsystems Manufacturing Association

UK

The Microsystems Manufacturing Association (MMA) has been established by the IMechE with the support of the DTI to encourage commercial exploitation of microsystems technologies (MST) by UK industry. To achieve this, it seeks to provide a strong and representative voice at national and international level, representing the interests of both suppliers and consumers of MST. The MMA will help facilitate links between the MST community and users in a wide range of applications in key UK technology sectors.
