PhD position in MEMS/NEMS Testing

LIRMM is seeking for a young researcher to conduct a PhD research activity in the field of Alternative test solutions for MEMS and NEMS. The microelectronics department of LIRMM has a recognized experience in the general test area, including MEMS testing aspects. In particular, the department participates to a European Network-of-Excellence (Patent-DfMM) and is in charge of actions related to Design for Testability of Micro- and Nano-Systems. The research lines considered for this thesis will stand in the continuity of the actions developed up to now. The objective is to generalize the methods developed so far, to validate
them on MEMS/NEMS of different natures (accelerometers, pressure sensors …), and to find new principles exploitable in alternative test solutions. In particular, the use of alternative techniques for test and compensation during production seems an attractive solution that has not been deeply investigated so far.
